Dewey D. Apple, 84 of Gibsonville passed away peacefully on January 5, 2024, surrounded by family.
He was born September 14, 1939 in Guilford County to the late Ronnie and Claudie Apple.
He owned and ran his own sawmill and had a logging outfit. He enjoyed working on farm equipment and was an avid gardener. He loved racing and especially enjoyed watching his son’s #98 Ford Falcon race.
Dewey is survived by his wife of 59 years Geneva; sons Jimmy, Jeff (Tina), Ronnie (Beth), BJ (Alison); grandchildren Krissy Wrenn (Dustin), Porter, Evie, Alan, Mallery, Josh, Jake, Amanda; great-grandkids Karsyn, Dawson, and Lily. Brothers Reid (Polly) and Jerry (Laverne) and a special nephew Todd Apple.
He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers Houston Gerringer, Cliff, Hobert, Delano, Bud and sisters Carnell Randleman and Gladys Apple.
A funeral service will be held Thursday, January 11 at 2 p.m. at Hope River Church 4355 High Rock Rd, Gibsonville, NC. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, January 10 at the same location. A burial will follow at the Church cemetery.
