James Miller Sutton
GIBSONVILLE — Mr. James Miller Sutton, 90, of Gibsonville, died at the V.A. Hospital in Salisbury on Thursday, March 10, 2011 at 12:07 a.m.
A native of Guilford County, he was the husband of the late Kathleen Palmer Harrington Sutton and the son of James McKinley Sutton and Bertha Miller Sutton, both deceased.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during World War II in the 65th Infantry Division and was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 02972. He was owner of Car Beauty Distributor. James was a member and past master of Tabasco Masonic Lodge No. 271 A.F. & A.M., the Oasis Temple-Greensboro York Rite where he was past masters unit, A.A.O.N.M.S., and the Burlington Moose Lodge #649. He was a member of Frieden’s Lutheran Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Sandy Sutton Wallace of Myrtle Beach, S.C. and Leeanne Sutton Anton and husband Chris of Greensboro; and five grandchildren, Jackie Johnson, Steven Wagoner, Christopher Anton, Erin Anton and Lindsey Anton.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Marjorie Phyllis Sutton.
The funeral service will be conducted at Frieden’s Lutheran Church on Saturday, March 12, 2011 at 11 a.m. by the Rev. William Zima. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the Rich & Thompson Funeral and Cremation Service in Burlington on Friday from 6 until 8 p.m.
