Mrs. Isabel H. Brown
ELON COLLEGE — Mrs. Isabel Heath Brown, 83, of Elon College, died at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, April 3, 1999, at her
home after a short illness.
A native of Guilford County, she was the wife of the late Mr. Floyd Holmes Brown and the daughter of Mr. Andy
Valentine Heath and Mrs. Nellie Whitesell Heath, both deceased. She was retired from Cone Mills after 47 years of service.
She was a charter member of the First Baptist Church of Elon College, where she was a member of the Epsie Somers
Sunday School Class, a nursery worker for many years, a Sunbeam Leader and a member of the WMU.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Margaret Brown McCotter of Durham; a sister, Mrs. Edna Shaw of Whitsett; a brother,
Mr. Robert Heath of Danville, Va.; a half-sister, Mrs. Janette Cranfill of Gibsonville; a half-brother, Mr. Kenneth Heath of
Julian; five grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Mr. Harrell R. Brown; and a brother, Mr. Harvey Heath.
The funeral will be conducted at 4 p.m. Tuesday at First Baptist Church of Elon College by the Rev. Norman B. Harris,
pastor, and the Rev. W.T. Cockman, former pastor. The body will be placed in the church 30 minutes before the service.
Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery in Elon College.
The family will be at Rich and Thompson Mortuary in Burlington from 6:30 to 8:30 this evening and at other times at the
home.
