DANVILLE, Va. — Robert Winfield Heath, 83, formerly of 1107 Washington St., Danville, died at 5:25 a.m. Tuesday, July 9, 2002 at Piney Forest Health Care Center, Danville.
He was born in Gibsonville on Dec. 24, 1918 to Andy Valentine Heath and Nellie Whitsell Heath, both deceased.
He was the husband of Maude Goodman Heath, who died April 7, 1995. He served in the United States Army during World War II in Northern France, Rhineland and Central Europe. He worked for Cone Mills in Greensboro, and was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include a half brother, Kenneth Heath; a half sister, Janette Cranfield; a stepson, Hubert Cline; a stepdaughter, Lily Altizer; and sisters-in-law, Bertha Williams and Lois Heath.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Harvey Heath; and two sisters, Edna H. Shaw and Isabelle H. Brown.
A memorial will be held at a later date.
