ELON — Robert Wilson Swift, 96, of 1501 Underwood Road, died Tuesday, Oct. 20, 2015, at Annie Penn Hospital.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 23, 2015, at Camp Springs United Methodist Church with the Rev. Laura Dunlap officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
A native of Caswell County, he was a son of the late Robert H. and Hulda Jane Smith Swift and had lived in the Camp Springs community most of his life. Mr. Swift was a member of Camp Springs United Methodist Church and a past president and very active member of the Cherry Grove Ruritan Club. He worked for over 40 years with Burlington Industries and retired from Collins and Aikman Textiles but was always a farmer at heart.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and by brothers, Herman and Clyde; a sister, Alice; and a grandson, Matt Swift.
Surviving are his wife, Ruby Butler Swift, of the home; sons, Ronald A. Swift of Caswell County and Robert Keith Swift and wife Sheryl of Reidsville; daughter, Janice Kaye Swift of Caswell County; brother, Herbert Swift and wife Marie of Elon; grandchildren, Ronald A. Swift II and wife Adrienne, Seth W. Swift and wife Christy, and Adam Swift, great-grandchildren, Jordan Swift, Ethan Swift, Noelle Swift and Aaron Swift.
The family will see friends from 4 till 6 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 22, 2019, at Citty Funeral Home.
