Mr. Carl H. Lindsay
BURLINGTON — Mr. Carl H. “Buddy” Lindsay, 75, of 837 N. Anthony St., died at 4 a.m. Friday, Aug. 3, 2001, at Alamance Regional Medical Center after a brief illness.
A native of Alamance County, he was the son of David M. Lindsay and Margaret Nance Lindsay, both deceased.
He was owner and operator of Valient Hosiery and Outlet Store and a member of Macedonia Lutheran Church.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran and a 1950 graduate of Duke University.
He was a member of the Providence Cemetery Memorial Foundation.
He was a member of American Legion Post No. 63, and coached its team to a regional and district championship in 1955.
Survivors include two sisters, Mrs. Nan Farlow of Norfolk, Va., and Mrs. Delsie Heath of Hampton, Va.; a brother, W.D. Lindsay of Burlington; and a stepson, Mark Lindsay of Greenville.
He was preceded in death by three sisters, Zadie L. Matthews, Emma L. Moore and Erma Dell Faucette; and a brother, George B. Lindsay.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday.
Burial will be in Providence United Church of Christ Cemetery.
The family will be at Rich and Thompson Mortuary in Burlington from 6 to 8 this evening, and at other times at the home.
