Obituary Online notes for Cadd T. MOORE Jr.
YORKTOWN - Cadd Thomas 'Tom' Moore Jr., 68, of Yorktown, Va., passed away Saturday, Jan. 17, 2004, after a long battle with Alzheimer's Disease. The son of the late Cadd T. Moore Sr. and the late Elizabeth Mapp Moore, Mr. Moore was born Nov. 18, 1935, in Norfolk, Va., and grew up in Suffolk, Va. He attended Virginia Polytechnic Institute in Blacksburg and graduated in 1958. He was employed as an engineer for NASA Langley Research Center from 1961 to 1995. He was an active member of Fox Hill Road Baptist Church in Hampton, prior to moving to Yorktown and joining Grafton Baptist Church. He enjoyed skiing, woodworking, baseball and many other activities. He assisted with coaching York County Little League Baseball for many years after his children were grown and in college. Survivor's include his wife of 45 years, Rushie Sites Moore; one son, Cadd T. 'CT' Moore III and his wife, Denise, of Yorktown; one daughter, Brenda M. Begley and her husband, Brian, of Highland, Mich.; three granddaughters, Elysse, Collyn and Brandi; a brother, James E. Moore of Fountain Inn, S.C.; and many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 19, at Altmeyer Funeral Home in Newport News. A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 20, in Altmeyer Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Jim Moynihan and the Rev. Don Stroud.
