ALTAMAHAW — Catherine Wilson Hamlett, 51, of 3031 Minor Road, died Friday, December 12, 2014 at Alamance Regional.
Cathy was born on November 27, 1963 in Reidsville NC. She was an avid reader and a die-hard Atlanta Braves fan. She was a true inspiration to her family and friends with her courage and determination. Cathy’s gentle way and winning smile will always be cherished and missed by all that came in contact with her.
Cathy was a devoted and loving wife to David Hamlett of the home. She is also survived by her daughter Heather Kennon, son Michael Hamlett and wife Leah, step-daughter Amanda Rule and husband Sam, mother Barbara Moore, step-mother Reba Wilson, sisters-in-law Stacey Wilson, Judy Hamlett and Robin Spivey, half-brother Brad Wilson and wife Ivy, and step-sisters Ida Wangler and Angel Sands. Cathy adored her grandchildren Lillian Hamlett, Samantha Rule, Buddy J Rule and Cooper Hamlett.
She was preceded
in death by her father Penn Wilson, brother Tim Wilson, step-son David “Buddy” Hamlett, step-fathers Buddy Loftis and Elmer Moore, step-sister Christy Loftis and in-laws Lewis and Diane Hamlett.
The family will receive friends on Sunday December 14 at Harrelson Funeral Home from 3:00 – 5:00 PM and at other times at the home.
Funeral services will be held graveside with Pastor Tadd Grandstaff officiating on Monday December 15, at Union United Methodist Church Cemetery at 2:00 PM.
The family would like to express appreciation for the love and concern at this difficult time.
