Mildred Spoon Alexander
RALEIGH — Mrs. Mildred Spoon Alexander, 94, of Raleigh, died at Hospice of Wake County on Tuesday, Aug. 6, 2013.
A native of Orange County, she was the wife of the late Carl B. Alexander. Due to the early death of her parents, she was raised and preceded in death by W. L. and Addie N. Spoon, and their daughter, Miriam Spoon Alexander. She was a former employee with Westinghouse Corporation in Florida. Mildred was a member of the First Baptist Church of Alamance, N.C.
Survivors include a son, Richard B. Alexander and wife Charlotte of Raleigh; grandson, S. Craig Alexander and wife Lisa of Durham; granddaughter, Christine A. Ellis and husband Daniel of Lookout Mountain, Ga.; seven great-grandchildren; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a brother, J. M. Spoon; sister, Annie Lee Cooper; and twin sister, Margaret Peppers.
The funeral service will be conducted at the Rich & Thompson Chapel in Burlington on Saturday, Aug. 10, 2013 at 11 a.m. by the Rev. Bryan Wright with the family receiving friends from 10 to 11 a.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be held in Floral Garden Memorial Park, High Point, N.C. on Saturday at 2 p.m.
