Mrs. Oda Webster Speir

MIAMI — Mrs. Oda Webster Speir, 93, of Miami died Monday, July 31, 2000.
Originally from Burlington, she was the wife of the late Mr. Foster Speir. She moved to Miami in 1943 to help start the Baptist Goodwill Center. She was a member of Central Baptist Church. She volunteered at the Veteran’s Hospital until
well into her 80s and worked for the Dade County Public Schools for several years.
Survivors include two daughters, Ms. Mary Speir Baldwin of Charlotte and Ms. Judy Speir Glover of Miami; two sisters, Ms. Ida Sink of Burlington and Ms. Inez Mann of Pittsboro; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. today at Van Osdel on Bird Road in Miami.
