Mr. Arlie W. Summers
ELON COLLEGE – Mr. Arlie W. Summers, 77, of 7175 Summerdale Road, died at 1:40 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 11, 1999, at Alamance Regional Medical Center after one year of failing health.
A native of Guilford County, he was the husband of the late Mrs. Florence Green Summers and the son of Mr. Andy Summers and Mrs. Lelia Brown Summers, both deceased. He was retired from the family dairy farm after 46* years and was a member of Friedens Lutheran Church.
Survivors include three daughters, Ms. Terri J. Summers of the home, Mrs. Daniel (Vickie) Hedgpeth of Raleigh and Mrs. Douglas (Janice) Bradburn of Elon College; a sister, Mrs. Mary S. Shepherd of Burlington; two brothers, Mr. George W. Summers of Elon College and Mr. Roy G. Summers of Gibsonville; and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Ms. Susan V. Summers; two sisters, Miss Iola Summers and Mrs. Eula S. Gerringer; and two brothers, Mr. Hubert Summers and the Rev. Dan Summers.
The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. today Tuesday at Friedens Lutheran Church in Gibsonville by the Rev. Richard Rhoades, pastor. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
The family be at the home.
