OWANKA - Margaret J. Barber, 89, Owanka, died Tuesday, Sept. 7, 2010, at home.
She married Alvin Barber in Arizona during the War, she was from West Virginia.They lived at Pierre after the war for a year and daughter Judy was born there. When she was two weeks old they moved to Rapid City SD and bought the Lovejoy place. Over the years the acquired more land and farmed it along with the Barber "homeplace". Two more children were born to them.
Survivors include two daughters, Judy Oldert, Owanka, and Carol Semich, Rapid City; a son, Brian Barber, Hermosa; seven grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 26, at First Baptist Church in Rapid City, with Gregg Hemmen officiating.
