Edward Marshall Cobb
 
 BURLINGTON — Edward Marshall Cobb, 89, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, Sept. 29, 2013, at Liberty Commons after several years of failing health.
 
 He was born July 25, 1924, in Alamance County to the late Herman G. and Annie Teague Cobb and was married for 62 years to the late Arteil Aldridge Cobb.
 
 Edward drove a tank for the U.S. Army during World War II as part of the Battery “C” 33 Field Artillery Battalion. He was formerly employed with May Hosiery Mill and later retired from Burlington Industries at the J. Spencer Love plant. He was a member of Bush Arbor Primitive Baptist Church and had served as the church clerk. Edward was an avid golfer with three holes-in-one and was known to shoot his age. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
 
 He is survived by daughters, Sheron (Dean) Warren and Terry (Gus) Gusler, all of Burlington; grandchildren, Brad (Brenda) Warren and Kevin Gusler; great- grandchildren, Brayden Warren and Brylea Warren; a sister, Gaynell Bruner of Burlington; and a brother, Ronald (Kay) Cobb of Haw River.
 
 He was preceded in death by his wife; parents; stepmother, Lucy Cobb; and a brother, Freddie Cobb.
 
 The funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Bush Arbor Baptist Church by Elder David Underwood with interment to follow in the church cemetery.
 
 The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 Tuesday evening at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory and at other times at the home of his daughter, Sheron Warren, 2659 Hamilton Road, Burlington.
 
 In lieu of fl owers, memorials may be made to Liberty Hospice, 2563 Eric Lane, Burlington, NC 27215.
 
 The family would like to say a special “Thank You” to the nurses and staff at Liberty Commons and Liberty Hospice for being “Angels.”
