Frances Gravitt King
BURLINGTON — Mrs. Frances Gravitt King, 77, of 1713 Hawthorne Lane, Burlington, died at Alamance Regional Medical Center on Thursday, April 13, 2006 at 8:13 p.m. following one year of declining health.
A native of Virgilina, Va., she was the wife of the late Walter Thomas “Tom” King, and the daughter of Kennie Gravitt and Bernice Elliott Gravitt, both deceased. She retired from Copland Fabrics. She was a member of Beverly Hills United Church of Christ, and the Eastern Star.
Survivors include one daughter, Charity Willis of Burlington; one son, Joe King and wife, Hannah, of Zebulon; three grandchildren, Sean Willis, Damian Willis, and Kyle King; one great-grandson, Aidan Willis; two stepgrandsons, Blake Hawley and Grant Hawley; and one sister. The funeral will be conducted at the Rich & Thompson Chapel in Burlington on Sunday, April 16, 2006 at 2 p.m. by the Rev. Rosser Clapp. Burial will follow in Alamance Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends at the Rich & Thompson Mortuary in Burlington from 6 to 8 this evening, and at other times they will be at the residence.
