Harvey Monroe Conklin
GREENSBORO — Harvey Monroe Conklin, 89, of Beckford Drive,
passed away Sunday, Jan. 27, 2002, at his home
Born April 27, 1912, in Durham, he was the husband of the late Anne
Busick Conklin, and the son of the late Julian Monroe and Margaret
Howell Conklin. He was a member of Liberty Wesleyan Church in
Summerfield and a member of the Woodman of the World. Mr. Conklin
was an avid hunter and fisherman.
Survivors include a daughter, Raynita Kivett and husband, Dr. Forbis
Kivett, of Kannapolis; two sons, Dale LeGrande Conklin Sr. of
Greensboro and Delano Monroe Conklin and his wife, Rachel, of
Burlington; a sister, Lois Taylor, and a brother, Woodrow Conklin, both
of Hillsborough; grandchildren, Chris Kivett, Kelly Kivett and wife,
Page, Chad Kivett and wife, Olivia, Dale Conklin Jr. and wife, Kim,
Maria Conklin, Kevin Conklin and wife, Elaine; great-grandchildren,
Ryan and Nicholas Kivett and Katelyn Conklin.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Pauline Parker and Margaret
Riggsbee; and two brothers, Ervin and Jack Conklin.
A memorial service will be conducted at 7 p.m. this evening at
Hanes-Lineberry, Vanstory Chapel by Dr. Forbis Kivett, and the Rev.
David Surrett.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the
service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Liberty Wesleyan Church
Building Fund, 15303 U. S. 158, Summerfield, N.C. 27358.
