The Rev. Charles A. Stewart
   BURLINGTON — The Rev. Charles A. Stewart, born July 13, 1940, went home to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ Sunday, Oct. 14, 2012. At the age of 72, he lost his battle with ALS after fighting his disease for two years.

   A native of Alamance County, he was the son of the late Vivian Gleason Stewart. He served his country for four years in the U.S. Navy from 1957-1961. The Rev. Stewart served the Lord most of his life through many churches with the most recent service at Burnetts Chapel United Methodist Church in Greensboro, N.C. from which he retired.

   He is survived by the mother of his five children, Sharon Fetherbay Stewart; daughter, Patti and husband Mark Ruisinger; son, Donny Stewart; daughter, Bethanne Griffin; daughter, Holly Justice; son, Timmy Stewart and wife Cheryl; many grandchildren; one great-grandchild; his brothers, Earl and wife Deanna and Doug and wife Debbie; sister, Julia Carr; and many nieces and nephews.

   Family visitation will be at Rich & Thompson

   Funeral Home and Crematory in Graham , N.C. on Wednesday Oct. 17, 2012 from 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday Oct. 18, 2012 at 11 a.m. at Andrews Memorial Baptist Church, Graham, N.C. by Dr. Tommy Willis. Burial will follow in Graham Memorial Park.
