Mildred Brown Simpson Thomas
BURLINGTON — Mildred Brown Simpson Thomas, 87, of Routh Road, passed away Tuesday, March 31, 2015, at her home.
A native of Alamance County, she was the wife of John G. Thomas and daughter of the late George Edgar and Bessie Louellen Brown Brown.
Mildred was retired from Kayser-Roth Corporation, was a graduate of Altamahaw-Ossipee High School and Elon College Business School. She was a charter member of the Burlington Christian Church, a member of the Wondering Twigs Garden Club and was widely known for her beautiful fingerwork.
Mildred is survived by her husband, John Gary Thomas, of the home; children, Patteye Jo Simpson, Eric Lee Simpson and Douglas Brown Simpson.
She was preceded in death by six siblings, Houston Brown, Leona Moore, Viola Litten, Elmo Brown, Anderena Lewis and Thomas Brown.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 4, 2015, in the Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Creighton
Beatty. Entombment will follow in the Alamance Memorial Park Mausoleum.
Mrs. Thomas will remain at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory through the funeral service.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at Lowe Funeral Home and at the residence at other times.
