R.J. Beane 


    R.J. Beane , formerly of Burlington passed away unexpectedly and peacefully at his home. He was born September 19, 1915. He was retired after 45 years with Burlington Industries. He was a lifetime member of the Bula Lodge # 409 AF&AM and was an active member of the Order of the Eastern Star.
    He was married to Marie Shore Beane , who preceded him in death on July 27, 2001. He is survived by two sons, Jerry Beane  and his wife, Judy, of Sarasota, Florida, and Darrell Beane  and his wife, Carol, of Thomasville; one daughter, Shirley Byrd and her husband, David, of Hickory; seven grandchildren, the late Michael Beane  and his wife, Diana, Steven Beane  and his wife, Jennifer, Mark Beane  and his wife, Laura, Scott Beane  and his wife, Lori, Jason Beane , Maria Beane  Dickenson and her husband, Kris, and Jeffrey Byrd, and his wife, Christina; and eight greatgrandchildren, Madison, Samantha, Jordan, Caroline, Olivia and Kayden Beane , Kamryn Dickenson and Ava Byrd.
    The funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 11, 2006 at 11 a.m. at Grove Park Baptist Church by Dr. Eugene Hunsinger and Mr. Bill Vickrey. Burial will follow at Alamance Memorial Park with Masonic Rites. The Masons are asked to meet at Grove Park Baptist Church at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday. The family will receive friends from 9:30 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. at the church prior to the service.
    In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Grove Park Baptist Church, 108 Trail One, Burlington, N.C. 27215 or to the Masonic and Eastern Star Home, 700 South Holden Road, Greensboro, N.C. 27407.
