BURLINGTON — Willie V. Underwood, 85, formerly of East Webb Avenue, died Saturday August 10, 2002 at the Hospice Home. She was born in Guilford county to the late John Wesley Underwood and the late Murkdeese Apple Underwood. She was a member of Friedens Lutheran Church and the Ladies Bible Class. She was a former employee of Kayser-Roth Hosiery.
Survivors include a sister, Bobbie Underwood King of Gibsonville, three brothers, Woodrow Underwood of Whitsett, Robert Underwood and his wife, Sue of Burlington, and Charlie Underwood and his wife, Billie of Brown Summit, special nieces and nephew, Susie Orrico and her husband, Jim, Kim Justice and Harvey Flynt, and several other nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, five sisters, Florence Flynt, Nita Summers, Alma Underwood, Nancy Underwood and Mary Mitchell, and two brothers, J. D. Underwood and James F. Underwood.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm Tuesday, August 13, 2002 at Friedens Lutheran Church Cemetery by Rev. Kristina Johnson and Rev. Raymond Petrea. The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm today at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory and other times at the home of a brother, Charlie Underwood 7306 Middlestream Road, Browns Summit.
