Mr. William Ross Beckom

ELON COLLEGE — Mr. William Ross Beckom, 77, of 3443 Osceola Road, died Sunday, Dec. 17, 2000, at Jefferson Care Center in Yanceyville.

A native of Alamance County, he was the husband of the late Mrs. Ruth Troxler Beckom, and the son of Mr. Ernest Tingen Beckom, and Mrs. Bertha Ross Beckom. He was retired from Copeland Fabrics and a member of Bethel United Methodist Church. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
Survivors include two sisters, Mrs. Mary Ruth Beckom Durham of Greenville, S.C., and Mrs. Frances Jean Beckom Kellam of Burlington; and two brothers, Mr. Benjamin Beckom and Mr. Curtis Beckom, both of Burlington.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Bethel United Methodist Church by the Rev. Charles Litzenberger, pastor. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
The family will be at the church following the service, and at other times at the home of a brother, Mr. Benjamin Beckom, 1618 Gerringer Mill Road, Burlington.3, Mr. William Ross Beckom
