Obituary Online notes for John Wayne CRANE

 LIBERTY — Mr. John Wayne Crane went home to be with the Lord on Friday, Feb. 11, 2011, after a nine-month-long battle with cancer. He was 63 years old and was a blessing to his family and friends.
 
 He was preceded in death by his parents, John David Crane and Grace Virginia Stackhouse; a sister, Linda V. Hylton; a nephew, Rick Hylton; and a granddaughter, Candice Marie Vance.
 
 He left behind his best friend and companion for 32 years, Diane Allen; daughters, Sabrina “Dannie” Crane, Yvonne Vance Bray, and Dawn Crane Thornburg, all of Burlington; grandsons, Timothy Vance and Camden Goldman; granddaughters, Elizabeth Bray, Candice Crane, and Brooke Thornburg; a greatgranddaughter, Aleigha Donham; his brother, Bill Crane and wife, Melba, of Charlotte; sisters, Sue Menefee and husband Bobby of Virginia, and Margie Adams of Burlington. Also a special niece and nephew, Cindy Carpenter and Donnie Hylton, both of Virginia.
 
 Wayne was known for being a top-notch mechanic by his friends, for his very colorful character, honesty, and sense of humor. He was kind and compassionate to his family and friends, and always willing to help a friend in need. Wayne was a true legend and will be dearly missed by all that had the chance to know him.
 
 A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2011, at the McClure Funeral Home Chapel in Graham. The family will receive friends on Monday evening, Feb. 14, 2011, from 7 until 9 p.m. at the McClure Funeral Home in Graham, and other times at the residence of Dannie Crane at 1122 Graham St., Burlington, NC. Memorials may be made to the Hospice and Palliative Care Center of Alamance/Caswell at 914 Chapel Hill Road, Burlington, NC 27215
