BURLINGTON — Mrs. Ola Christine Overman, 89, of 3627 Brick Church Road, Burlington, died at the Hospice Home on Wednesday, October 30, 2013 at 6:05 a.m.
A native of Alamance County, she was the wife of the late Charles Allen Overman Sr. and the daughter of Early Lewis Fogleman and Norvie Leah Huffman Fogleman, both deceased. She was a member of Antioch Missionary Baptist Church.
Survivors include three daughters, Shirley Coble and husband Johnny, Dixie Sizemore and Faye Thaxton and husband Mike; three sons, Charlie Overman and wife Julia, Mack Overman and wife Brenda and George Overman of the home; two sisters, Ruth Straughn and Nancy Brown; 25 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; several great-greatgrandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by three sons, Skeeter, Willie and Mark Overman; four sisters, Faye Loy, Lucy Moore, Mae Clapp and Eunice Simpson; and a grandson, Little Mark.
The funeral service will be conducted at the Rich & Thompson Chapel in Burlington on Friday, November 1, 2013, at 2 p.m. by the Rev. Don Pegg with the family receiving friends from noon to 1:45 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Antioch Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery. Other times they will receive friends at the residence.
Memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Alamance-Caswell, 918 Chapel Hill Road, Burlington, NC 27215.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff at Hospice for the compassion and care given to Ola.
