Opal Gerringer Stanley
 
 BURLINGTON — Opal Gerringer Stanley, 96, a resident of Liberty Commons and former resident of Oak Creek Apartments died on Saturday, May 10th, 2014 at 1:00 p.m.
 
 A native of Alamance County, she was the wife of the late Leonard W. Stanley and the daughter of James Dover Gerringer and Lillian Pritchard Gerringer, both deceased. She retired from Western Electric in 1981, was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America, volunteered with the Alamance County Hospice, served as a Pink Lady at Alamance County Hospital for 28 years, and was a member of Northside Presbyterian Church, the Lady’s Bible Class and Circle #4.
 
 She is survived by one son, Ronald W. Stanley and his wife Janette of Burlington; one daughter, Faye Stanley of Charlotte; one sister, Maxine Chrisco of Winston-Salem; four grandchildren, Michael Stanley and his wife Melissa, Jennifer Breckette and her husband David, Doug Stanley and his wife Jaena, and Drew Harris; and four great-grandchildren.
 
 In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by five sisters and two brothers.
 
 The funeral service will be conducted at the Rich & Thompson Chapel in Burlington on Tuesday, May 13th, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. by the Rev. Jim Mitchell. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service. The burial will follow in Alamance Memorial Park.
