Obituary Online notes for Margie Jean MADREN
Mrs. Margie Jean Madren Fulk Snyder, 74, of Pilgrim Court passed away Friday, Oct. 24, 2003, at Forsyth Medical Center.

Margie was born in Altamahaw on Sept. 28, 1929, the daughter of William Taylor and Lena Waynick Madren. Margie was educated in the Alamance County public school system and was a graduate of the City Memorial Hospital School of Nursing and the University of North Carolina Public Health. She also received postgraduate education at UNC Chapel Hill. She was employed in public health for a number of years with the Forsyth County Health Department, retiring in 1994 as director of nursing for Triad United Methodist Home (Arbor Acres). She was a member of Centenary UMC.

Margie was preceded in death by her first husband, George William Fulk, six brothers and two sisters. Surviving are her husband, F. Conard Snyder of the home; a son, Brian James Fulk and his wife Deborah of Richmond, Va.; a daughter, Mary Beth Cox and her husband Stephen of Statesville; three grandchildren, Morgan Cox of Statesville and Millicent and Clay Fulk, both of Richmond, Va; two stepsons, Dr. Bruce Snyder of Greenville, S.C., and Mark Snyder of Greensboro; a stepdaughter, the Rev. Dr. Ruth Miller Snyder of Matthews; six stepgrandchildren; and two brothers, Joe Madren of Altamahaw and the Rev. Weldon Madren of Concord.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Oct. 27, at Centenary UMC by the Rev. Jack Yarbrough. Inurnment will be at 10 a.m. Monday in the church columbarium. The family will receive friends following the service in the church fellowship hall. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made to Arbor Acres, 1240 Arbor Road, Winston Salem, NC 27104 or Centenary United Methodist Church, 646 W. Fifth St., Winston-Salem, NC 27102. Vogler Reynolda Road is handling the arrangements.
