Alva  Mitchell Hoke 

BURLINGTON — Alva  Mitchell Hoke , 90, of Burlington, passed away, Saturday, July 21, 2007 at Britthaven of Guilford in Greensboro.
Alva  was the daughter of the late Edwin L. and Berta Mitchell.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, C. W. ‘Toppie’ Hoke .
Also deceased: Two brothers, Wallace Mitchell and James ‘Jim’ Mitchell.
Three sisters: Hazel Barham, Ethel Hill and Dorothy Hill.
She is survived by her son, B. Ray Hoke  and wife Brenda, of Raleigh, NC.
Grandsons: Tonee Hoke  and wife Tanya, of Burlington, D’Neil Hoke  of Burlington and Harper Grant of Raleigh.
Great grandchildren: Sunday Joy, Brandon Michael and Taylor Ann Hoke .
    Sister, Ruby Starling of Gatlinburg, TN
    She is also survived by a large family of loving nieces and nephews.
    We will all miss her sharp wit and humor.
    Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, July 23, 2007 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Danny Miles. Interment will follow at Pine Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. this evening at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory and at other times at the home of Tonee & Tanya Hoke  at 764 Meadowood Drive, Burlington.
