BURLINGTON — Mr. Edd Davis Wilkins, 94, of Burlington, died at his residence on Saturday, Sept. 27, 2008, at 7 a.m.
A native of Alamance County, he was the husband of the late Dorothy Hornaday Wilkins and the son of Henry Byrd Wilkins and Anna Jane Garrison Wilkins, both deceased. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during World War II. He was an owner operator of Edd Wilkins Exxon for over 40 years.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Georgia W. Way and husband, Donnie; a grandson, Mr. Steven Way; and a brother, Mr. Glenn Wilkins, all of Burlington.
A private service will be held for the family.
Memorials may be made to the Humane Society of Alamance County, P.O. Box 3673, Burlington, N.C. 27216.
