Ruby  Lee Brantley Wilkins 
    GREENSBORO — Ruby  Lee Brantley Wilkins , 91, died peacefully with her children by her side on November 1, 2004, at Beacon Place in Greensboro, N.C.
    On Wednesday, November 3, in Burlington, N.C., a private burial at Pine Hill Cemetery will be followed at 2 p.m. by a celebration of life service in the chapel of Front Street United Methodist Church. The family will greet friends in the Heritage room of the church immediately after the service.
    She was born August 18, 1913 in Mooresville, N.C., to Robert Lee and Addie Ethel McLean Brantley. She graduated from Mitchell College and Appalachian State University, and was a teacher in Mooresville, Cordova, and Burlington, N.C. public schools until she retired. She inspired her students to aim high and reach higher. She also leaves a wonderful legacy to her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren of kindness to everyone. She was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma and of the Fannie Larkin class at Front Street United Methodist Church.
    Ruby  married Levi Peel Wilkins  of Burlington on April 24, 1937. She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; her brothers, Jack, Homer, Howard, and David Brantley; and her grandson, Douglas Moss Cooper.
    She is survived by her brother, Fred Gray Brantley of Mooresville, N.C.; son, Robert J. Wilkins  of Nashville, Tenn.; her daughter, Molly Wilkins  Brady and her husband, James of Summerfield; her grandchildren, George Wilkins  and his wife, Gena, of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; her granddaughter, Emilee Wilkins  McCracken and her husband, John, of Jamestown; her granddaughter, Claire Cooper Tippens and her husband, Chris, of Greensboro; six great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
    The family would like to thank Dr. Melanie Martin, her staff, and the staff of Beacon Place for their exceptional care of Mrs. Wilkins  in her last days. Memorial contributions may be made to Beacon Place, 2502 Summit Ave., Greensboro, N.C. 27405 or to Front Street United Methodist Church, 136 S. Fisher St., Burlington, N.C. 27215.
