Margaret Frances Robertson Huffman
BURLINGTON — Margaret Frances Robertson Huffman , 86, of 3022 Ardmore St., went home to be with the Lord on Friday, November 30, 2007, at the Hospice Home.
She was the wife of the late William Woodrow "Jim" Huffman and the daughter of the late Arch and Pattie Baldwin Robertson .
Margaret retired from the Burlington City School System as cafeteria manager at Hillcrest Elementary School. She was a member of St. Mark’s Church, where she worked in the nursery for many years. Margaret was a volunteer at the Good Shepherd Kitchen Homeless Shelter helping to prepare meals. She loved to travel and was an avid Atlanta Braves fan.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Lu Ann Lowe and her husband, Tim, of Port Charlotte, Fla.; son, Don W. Huffman of Burlington; sisters, Mrs. Wilma R. Loy of Elon, Mrs. Beckie R. Hyder of Asheboro and Mrs. Joann R. Isley of Burlington.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Desmond "Bud" Robertson and Arthur "Pig" Robertson .
The family would like to thank the home care givers and the staff and nurses of Hospice for the kind and compassionate care they gave to Margaret during her illness.
The funeral will be held on Monday, December 3, 2007 at 11 a.m. at the Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Bob Disher and the Rev. Ben Bishop. Interment will follow in Alamance Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 4 until 6 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home, and other times at the home.
Memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Alamance-Caswell, 914 Chapel Hill Road, Burlington, N.C. 27215.
