Mrs. Mozelle Baldwin Westbrooks


    BURLINGTON — Mrs. Mozelle Baldwin Westbrooks, age 90, formerly of Ava St., died Sunday, October 23, 2011 at the Homeplace of Burlington after several months of failing health.
    Born in Guilford County, she was the daughter of the late Presley Alexander Baldwin and the late Mary Eugena Huffman Baldwin and was married to the late Fred Yancy Westbrooks, who died in 1997. She retired after many years of service in the textile industry and was a longtime member of First United Methodist Church of Elon, where she was very active in the United Methodist Women.
    Mrs. Westbrooks is survived by her daughter, Judy W. Blake and her husband, Glenn; two sons, Ricky Westbrooks and his wife, Donna, and Randy Westbrooks, all of Burlington; three grandchildren, Brian Faucette and his wife, Mary, Grant Westbrooks and Lauren Westbrooks; a great granddaughter, Berkley Faucette, and another great grandchild expected in February;andseveral nieces and nephews, including Miss Evilea Baldwin. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; three sisters, Myrtle Spencer, Jessie Lowe and Rosa Baldwin; and two brothers, Tommie Baldwin and Bill Baldwin.
    The funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 AM Tuesday, October 25, 2011 at First United Methodist Church of Elon by Rev. Terry Huffines. Interment will follow at Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6-8 Monday evening at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory and other times at her daughter’s home, 608 Country Club Dr., Burlington.
