Ruth Sutton Rich
BURLINGTON — Ruth Sutton Rich, age 87, of 5220 South N.C. 49 passed away Thursday, January 29, 2009 at Alamance Regional Medical Center.
A native of Alamance County, she was the daughter of the late Carl Holt and Nora Price Sutton.
She was a member of Bellemont United Methodist Church and a retired employee of Kayser-Roth.
Survivors include her daughter, Rita Rich Williamson of Mebane; grandchildren, Melody Ruth Williamson, Meri Christi W. Craft and husband Mike, and Mark Gilma Williamson and fiancée Amy Phillips; great-grandchild, Raine Craft; brother, Frank Sutton and wife Juanita of Jacksonville, Fla.
She was preceded in death by siblings, Alma S. Gilliam, Ralph Sutton, Carl Holt Sutton Jr., Myrtle M. Walker and Ethel S. McPherson.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, January 31, 2009 at the Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Jerry Jackson. Interment will follow in Alamance Memorial Park.
Ms. Rich will remain at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory through the funeral service. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday and at other times at the home of her daughter, 4007 Hawfields Crossing Lane, Mebane, N.C.
The family would like to thank the Emergency Room and Critical Care staff at ARMC for the special care they gave Ruth.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Alamance-Caswell, 914 Chapel Hill Road, Burlington, N.C. 27215.
