Ralph Boyd “PaPa” Cook
ELON — Ralph Boyd “PaPa” Cook, 89, of 2209 North NC 87 died on Sunday, April 13, 2003 at Alamance Regional Medical Center.
He was a native of Guilford County and the son of the late Robert T. Cook and Roxie Gerringer Cook. He was the husband of the late Jennie Bell “Tennie” Scott Cook.
Ralph was a self-employed auto mechanic and small engine repair mechanic. He was a member of Bethlehem Christian Church.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Hobart and Donna Cook of Mebane; daughter, Hazel Laughlin of Elon; five grandsons and one great-granddaughter; sisters, Maybelle Lowe of Elon; Irene Lamb and her husband, Pete of High Point; Beulah Mabe of High Point and Violet Johnson of Gibsonville.
He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, grandson, Rocky Zane Laughlin and stepgrandson, Donald Ty Laughlin; sisters, Maggie Jane Scott Tate, Lydia Apple and Zonie Wyrick; brothers, Rufus and Ralis Cook.
A graveside service will be conducted at Alamance Memorial Park on Wednesday, April 16, 2003 at 3:00 PM by Rev. Dave Gilbert. The family will receive friends from 6-8PM this evening at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory. Memorials may be made to Loaves and Fishes Food Ministry, 346 W.
