 BURLINGTON — Mr. Carl S. Trollinger, 86, passed away at Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital on Wednesday, Oct. 7, 2015, at 1:23 p.m.
 
 A native of Alamance County, he was the husband of the late Nadine “Deanie” Langley Trollinger and the son of Eddie Baxter Trollinger and Lula Susan Burke Trollinger, both deceased. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during the Korean War in the 424th Field Artillery Division. Carl was owner and operator of Duncan Exxon Service Center. He formerly served on the Burlington Traffic Commission and the Beautification and Appearance Committee for the City of Burlington. He was a member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church where he had served and been active on several committees.
 
 Survivors include two sons, Spencer Wayne Trollinger and wife Rhonda and Michael Nelson Trollinger and wife Stephanie, all of Burlington; three grandchildren, Matt Trollinger and wife Ashley, Brandon Trollinger and wife Erica and Grace Trollinger; three great-grandchildren, Logan, Jackson and Lucy Trollinger; and several nieces and nephews.
 
 He was preceded in death by three sisters, Gladys Rice, Louise Jones and Frances Madden; and two brothers, Franklin Trollinger and Eddie Trollinger.
 
 The funeral service will be conducted at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church on Saturday, Oct. 10, 2015, at 11 a.m. by the Rev. Lee Roy Pittard. Burial will follow in Pine Hill Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers will be Carl’s fellow members of the 424th Field Artillery Division.
 
 The family will receive friends on Friday from 4:30 until 8 p.m. at Rich & Thompson Funeral and Cremation Service in Burlington. At other times they will be at the residence.
 
 Memorials may be made to St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, 609 Trail Two, Burlington, NC 27215 or to Hospice and Palliative Care of Alamance-Caswell, 914 Chapel Hill Road, Burlington, NC 27215.
