Gastonia - Fred Carroll Crisp, 82, of, Gastonia, NC, died Tuesday, February 07, 2006 at Gaston Memorial Hospital.
He was a native of Gaston County, and is the son of the late Andrew O. Crisp and Lenora Carpenter Crisp.
Rev. Fred Crisp went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Chris on February 7, 2006. He was a minister and servant of the Lord for over 50 years. He was a graduate of Gardner Webb College, Wake Forest and Southeastern Seminary. While in seminary he pastored churches in Kittrel, Raleigh and Zebulon, NC. Other churches where Rev. Crisp pastored were in Shelby, Grover, and Dallas. He retired in Charlotte at Westmoreland Baptist Church. He was presently a member of Parkwood Baptist Church. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of WWII. He served on the destroyer Lyman K. Swenson.
SURVIVORS: Son: Chip Crisp and wife, Chrisy of Charlotte; daughter: Brenda Wright and husband, Jim of Gastonia; sister: Catherine Beard of Gastonia; grandchildren: Marty and Angela Bradshaw, David and Kristen Lowe of Gastonia, Eric and Silvia Crisp, Shane and Mya Bailey of Charlotte; his pride and joy were his great grandchildren: Joshua, Marley, Luke, Valery and Nadia
