James Leamon Britt
James Leamon Britt, 80, of Morehead City, died Tuesday, Sept. 17, 2013, at Crystal Coast Hospice House.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday at Munden Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Tom Supplee offi ciating.
James was born in Wayne County. He served in the U.S. Navy. He worked at Castle and Britt Barber Shop in Burlington, and went on to work and retire from Dixie barber shop in Morehead City. He was a member of St. James United Methodist Church.
He is survived by long time friend and companion Doris Edwards; three sons Mark Britt and wife Bette of Greenville, S.C., Wayne Britt of Brooklyn, N.Y., and Neil Britt and wife Amor of Cary; six grandchildren; and one brother Earl Britt of Jacksonville, N.C.
He was preceded in death by his parents Marvin and Lula Britt, and sister Helen McElmurray.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Saturday at Munden Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to SECU Crystal Coast Hopice House, 100 Big Rock Weigh, Newport, NC 28570.
