Jane Simmons Tate, 77, of Greensboro died Thursday, Feb. 24, 2005, at her home.

The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Lambeth-Troxler Funeral Service. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery.

Mrs. Tate was born in Caswell County on Sept. 15, 1927, to W.R. Simmons Sr., and Minnie Miles Simmons. She was the wife of the late G.M. Tate.

She is survived by a daughter, Lynne Tate Greene and husband Gary of Raleigh; a son, Steve Tate and wife Marie of High Point; a sister, Dot Wilkins and husband Glen of Alamance; two brothers W.R. Simmons Jr., and wife Mamie Sue of Elon College and Elmond Simmons and wife Sarah of Burlington; three grandchildren.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Lambeth-Troxler Funeral Service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Congregational United Church of Christ, 400 W. Radiance Drive, Greensboro, N.C. 54, JANE SIMMONS TATE
