Obituary for Thomas B. Simmons
The family of Thomas B. Simmons is saddened to announce his passing on October 8, 2019 at his residence in Winter Haven, Florida. Thomas was born to his late parents Henry and Rosa Simmons on October 28, 1936 in Halifax, VA.
Thomas is survived by his wife of 65 years, Betty Simmons; son, Timothy Simmons; daughters, Teresa Merritt (Jimmy), Terry Dickerson; sister, Estelle Brooks; 10 grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his son, Thomas A. Simmons.
A viewing will be held at Brooks Lyon Funeral Home on Sunday, October 13, 2019 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A graveside service will be held on Monday, October 14, 2019 at 2:00 PM at Black Walnut Baptist Church Cemetery in South Boston, VA. Pastor Teresa Turner will officiate the service.
