BURLINGTON — Daniel “Dan” Ellis Leath, 82, of 4731 Pagetown Road, died Sunday, Jan. 13, 2002 at White Oak Manor after a lengthy illness. A native of Caswell County, he was the husband of the late Elizabeth Crutchfield Leath, and the son of Daniel Otis Leath and Stella Patterson Leath, both deceased. He was employed for 21 years at Alamance Laundry, and later retired from Hole-in-None Hosiery. He was a member of Bethlehem Christian Church, where he was a former Sunday school superintendent, Sunday school teacher, youth director, choir director, former Deacon, and member of the Board of Ushers. He was currently serving on the Advisory Board of Ushers and was a member of the Layman’s Fellowship. He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving during World War II. Survivors include a son, Ronnie Leath, and his wife, Shirley, of Burlington; two grandchildren, Danny Leath, Doug Leath and his wife, Christy; one sister, Mrs. Margaret Simmons and her husband, Earl, of Elon; two great-grandchildren, Justin Leath and Caroline Leath; two brothers, Robert Otis “Bobby” Leath and his wife, Anne, of Burlington, and Howard Leath and his wife, Maybud, of Burlington. The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Bethlehem Christian Church by the Rev. Dave Gilbert, pastor. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Mr. Leath will remain at Lowe Funeral Home until being taken to the church to lie in state 30 minutes prior to the funeral. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8 tonight, and at other times at the home of Ronnie Leath, 4751 Pagetown Road, Burlington. BURLINGTON — Daniel “Dan” Ellis Leath, 82, of 4731 Pagetown
