Mrs. Ethel Howard Hunter
BURLINGTON — Mrs. Ethel Howard Hunter died at 9:15 a.m., Sunday, Aug. 2, 2009, at the Hospice Home of Burlington following four years of declining health and two weeks of critical illness.
A native of Person County, she was the wife of the late Robert Eolus Hunter and daughter of the late Robert Bruce Howard and Linnie Slaughter Howard. She was a retired textile inspector and a member of Hocutt Memorial Baptist Church.
Surviving are three nieces, Janeen Padavich, Ann Revels and Jean Tate; nine nephews, Bob Shue, Bruce Howard, Larry Howard, Don Howard, Jim Satterfield, David Satterfield, Steve Howard, Wayne Howard and Lyn Howard; and a special great-great-nephew, Grant Stainback. She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Mrs. Beulah H. Shue and Mrs. Ruby Satterfield; and six brothers, Ralph Howard, Archie Howard, Clint Howard, Harry Howard, Wade Howard and Bill Howard.
Services will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 5, at Hocutt Memorial Baptist Church with the Rev. Jimmy Nickelston officiating. Burial will follow in Alamance Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends at Hocutt Memorial Baptist Church from 1 to 2 p.m. prior to the service.
