Mr. David Banks "Bill" Howard


    HAW RIVER — Mr. David Banks "Bill" Howard, 83, of 341 Trollingwood Road, died at 8 p.m. Sunday, June 8, 2008, at Duke University Medical Center.
    He was the husband of 63 years to the late Ethel James Howard and the son of the late Robert Bruce Howard and Lenny Slaughter Howard. He was retired from sheet metal work with more than 60 years of service. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Haw River and served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
    Survivors include a sister, Ethel Hunter of Burlington; and loving nieces and nephews.
    He was preceded in death by brothers and sisters.
    The funeral will be conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 12, 2008, at the First Baptist Church of Haw River by the Rev. Walter Jones. Burial will be in Pine Hill Cemetery.
    Visitation will be held at the church Thursday one hour prior to the service, and at other times at the residence of Pam Loy, 1148 Turtle Run Trail, Haw River.
    McClure Funeral Service in Graham is in charge of arrangements.
