Mrs. Ruth Beatrice Coleman Jeffreys
BURLINGTON — Mrs. Ruth Beatrice Coleman Jeffreys, formerly of N.C. 62 North, died Wednesday, Dec. 3, 2003, at High Point Regional Hospital.
Mrs. Jeffreys was a native of Alamance County, she was the wife of the late Claude Walker Jeffreys, and the daughter of the late Joseph Allen and Euphrasia Belle Arnold Coleman. She was a homemaker and a member of the Primitive Baptist Faith and attended their churches regularly. She was also a longtime active member in the Alamance County Extension program and served in the past on many of its county, district and state programs.
Survivors include a son, Arnold Coleman Jeffreys and wife, Carol, of Greensboro; a stepdaughter, Doris Jeffreys Allen of Burlington; three stepgrandchildren; and five great-stepgrandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two stepsons, Jennings and Norman Jeffreys; two sisters, Euphrasia (Becky) Coleman Ingle and Eunice Coleman Galloway; and six brothers, Osia Coleman, Lofton Coleman, Ira Coleman, Jones Coleman, Percy Coleman, and E.W. "Doc" Coleman.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 5, 2003, at the McClure Funeral Home Chapel in Burlington by Elder Kenneth Key of Greensboro Primitive Baptist Church, and Elder C.B. Davis of Shilo Primitive Baptist Church in Roxboro. Burial will be in McCray Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the McClure Funeral Home in Burlington from 4 to 7 this evening.
