Mrs. Dianne Breedlove Murray Toney


    BURLINGTON — Mrs. Dianne Breedlove Murray Toney, 71, died on Thursday, July 9, 2009, after a lengthy battle with cancer.
    A native of Guilford County, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Breedlove and Lottie Thacker Breedlove. She was a retired tobacco farmer and a member of People’s Memorial Christian Church.
    She was a loving mother and wife to her husband, Russell W. Toney of the home; two daughters, Karen Rachel Murray Swanger and husband Darrell Lee of Gibsonville and Anne Murray Somers and husband Mark of Burlington; three sons, Steve Murray of Burlington, William Murray and wife Amanda of Burlington and Jay Murray of Burlington; a stepdaughter, Angela Swanger and husband David of Graham; a stepson, Russell W. Toney III and wife Carol Ann of Swepsonville; 13 grandchildren; four greatgrandchildren. She was preceded in death by a grandson, William James Murray.
    Services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, July 11, at People’s Memorial Christian Church with burial to follow in Greenview Cemetery in Reidsville.
    The family will receive friends at the Rich & Thompson Mortuary in Burlington from 6 until 8 p.m. Friday evening and at other times at the residence.
    Memorials may be made to Hospice & Palliative Care Center, 918 Chapel Hill Road, Burlington, N.C. 27215.
