 GIBSONVILLE — Mrs. Ora J. Smith, 86, of Gibsonville died at Alamance Regional Medical Center on Thursday, March 3, 2016, at 12:45 p.m. following several years of declining health.
 
 A native of Browns Summit, she was the wife of the late Percy Cleveland Smith and the daughter of Charles Edgar Johnson and Cora Griffin Johnson, both deceased.
 
 Survivors include two daughters, Debra Smith Melville and Darlene Smith Sparks and husband Alvin; son, Douglas M. Smith Sr. and wife Debbie; brother, John Elwood Johnson and wife Ruby; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
 
 She was preceded in death by five brothers, Almer, Junior, J.D., Buford and Tommy and three sisters, Mildred, Maureen and Ruthie.
 
 The funeral service will be conducted at the Rich & Thompson Chapel in Burlington on Saturday, March 5, 2016, at 2 p.m. by the Rev. Rick Johnson and the Rev. Curtis Pruitt with the family receiving friends from 12:45 to 1:45 p.m. prior to the service. Burial will follow in Frieden’s Lutheran Church Cemetery, Gibsonville, NC.
 
 The family wishes to express their gratitude to her granddaughter, Ruth Nicole Jernigan, for her loving care and help.
