SEARS, Luzena Isadore Waynick was the daughter of Joshua and Eleanor Waynick. She was born on March 29, 1862 in Green Brier which is nine miles south of Paoli in Orange County. She was the 5th of six children and attended Southern Indiana Normal School, which was then at Paoli. She taught school several years in her home community. She converted in 1890 and joined the Methodist Episcopal Church at Orleans. She was the last of children to marry and cared for parents until their deaths, her father dying first, then the mother in 1909. She lived with her sister, Edna Lindley in Mitchell for a year and a half until she married Thomas Sears on October 12, 1910. She cared for his children Claude, Fannie, May, and Arthur. She was survived by husband; four sisters, Mrs. Barbara Sutton of Longton, Kansas, Mrs. Belle Lomax of French Lick, Mrs. Minnie Downey of Green Brier, Mrs. Edna Lindley of Mitchell; one brother Daniel Waynick of Green Brier. She was buried at I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Orleans, Indiana.
