ELON — Mary Waynick Way, 79, of 743 E. Haggard Ave., died Tuesday, April 27, 2004, at Kindred Hospital in Greensboro. She was born in Alamance County to the late Frances Lemons Waynick and the late Marvin Waynick, and was married to the late Charles Henry Way, who died in 1986.
Mrs. Way was a registered nurse who worked at Alamance County Hospital, Alamance Memorial Hospital and Alamance Regional Medical Center. She was a member of St. Mark’s Reformed Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Claudia W. Smith and her husband, Charles, of Pittsboro; son, Frankie Way of Burlington; granddaughters, Jessica and Danielle Way; sister, Laura Green of Winston-Salem; two nieces; and five nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; and a sister, Honzelle Waynick Whitesell.
The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, May 2, 2004, at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Bob Disher. Interment will follow in St. Mark’s Reformed Church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.3, Mary Waynick Way
