Obituary Online notes for Fletcher Watson WAYNICK
Fletcher was known as a buggy maker in Reidsville, NC. Just after 1900 he built at least three automobiles using his buggies as the body. He even made his own gas engine. He carved the engine block and head from a piece of wood then had it cast in metal.

Fletcher got into trouble frequently because of his creations. The locals apparently were not to keen on his noisy, loud, and speedy mode of travel. The town even created an ordinance to control how he drove through the streets.

Many years later he died with a skull fracture after being struck by a truck.
