Nicole Rae ‘Nikki’ Compton
BURLINGTON — Nicole Rae “Nikki” Compton, 34, passed away Tuesday, May 24, 2016 at Alamance Regional Medical Center surrounded by her family after a critical illness for three weeks.
She was born in Alamance County and was the daughter of Donald Ray “Donnie” Compton and Cynthia Anne “Cindy” Huffman Compton.
Nikki was a 2001 graduate of Western Alamance High School where she was a cheerleader for three years. She was a member of Lakeview Community Church.
She is survived by her parents, Donnie and Cindy Compton, of the home; sister and brotherin-law, Lindsay and Matt Wilkins of Burlington; niece, Lily Anne Wilkins; nephew, Noah Patrick Wilkins; maternal grandmother, Dorothy Charles Huffman of Fort Mill, SC; seven aunts; three uncles and many, many cousins.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Dr. Stanton Vance Huffman; paternal grandparents, Ralph William Compton and Nannie Mae Garrison Compton; and her Boxer “Tia,” who will lay at rest with her for eternity.
The funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 26, 2016, in the Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Pastor Darryl Massey with interment to follow in Springwood Presbyterian Church cemetery. The family will receive friends from noon until 1:45 p.m. Thursday prior to the service and at other times at the home.
The family would like to say a special “Thank You” to the doctors, nurses and staff of ICU at ARMC for their kindness, compassion and loving care shown to Nikki during her illness.
As her parents, we would like to thank God for blessing us with such a wonderful child and for accepting her as one of his special angels.
