Mrs. Eunice Sutton James
ALTAMAHAW — Mrs. Eunice Sutton James, 97, formerly of Altamahaw, died Tuesday, December 30, 2003, at White Oak Manor after three months of failing health.
A native of Alamance County, she was the daughter of the late James W. "Jim" Sutton and the late Fletcher Morene Sutton, and was married to the late Julius Mack James, who died in 1985. She was previously employed with Glen Raven Mills and was a member of Altamahaw Pentecostal Holiness Church.
Mrs. James is survived by several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; seven sisters, Ms. Coy Lee Sutton, Ms. Annie Sutton, Ms. Ivey Sutton, Mrs. Dular S. Toney, Mrs. Mamie S. Taylor, Mrs. Hermie S. Bell, and Mrs. Alene S. Storto; and two brothers, Charlie Sutton and James Sutton.
The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, January 1, 2004 at Altamahaw Pentecostal Holiness Church by the Rev. Delmar Scotton, the Rev. Mike Johnson, and the Rev. Danny Stephens. Interment will follow at Pine Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory from 6 to 8 this evening.
