BURLINGTON — Mr. Charlie Vernon Sutton, 88, formerly of 1856
Greentree Road, Burlington, died Thursday, September 5, 2002, at
Britthaven of Guilford after a three month illness.
The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, September 7 at Trinity
Worship Center in Burlington conducted by the Rev. Dr. Jimmy
Gardner. Burial will be in Alamance Memorial Park.
Born in Altamahaw, N.C., he was the son of the late James W. Sutton
and Fletcher Morene Sutton and husband of the late Mattie Jackson
Sutton. He retired after more than 50 years with Glen Raven Mills and
was a member of Trinity Worship Center.
Charlie is survived by a number of nieces and nephews, and a sister,
Eunice James of Altamahaw.
He was preceded in death by sisters, Dula Tomey, Mamie Taylor,
Hermie Bell, and Alene Storto; and a brother, James Sutton.
Visitation will be from 10 till 11 a.m. Saturday at Trinity Worship Center.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Trinity Worship
Center Debt Reduction Fund, 3157 S. Church St., Burlington, N.C.
