Paron Pettigrew, two day shy of age 102, of Bremerton, Washington passed away on April 3, 2022 at home after a full and eventful life.
Petty, as he was known with family and friends, was fourth sibling from a family of eight. He was born April 5, 1920, in Gibsonville, North Carolina with no middle name to the late Lawrence Jessie and Oda Lee (Thomas) Pettigrew. He lived in Gibsonville throughout his childhood until he left to go serve his county during World War II serving in the US Navy in the Pacific and was honorably discharged November 27, 1946 as a Boatswain's Mate Second Class USN. During his service in the Navy, he went AWOL to marry Helen Margaret Cratty on January 13, 1945. Petty retired from Foremost Dairy in south Seattle and moved to Bremerton, Washington where they enjoyed retirement life and living with waterfront property. 470, Paron “Petty” Pettigrew4/4/2022

Petty, as he was known with family and friends, was born April 5, 1920, in Gibsonville, North Carolina. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife Helen; parents Lawrence and Oda Pettigrew; brothers, Master SGT Floyd, Ernest, and Paul; sisters, Thelma, Flonnie and Juanita; and his son John "Jack". He is survived by his sister Sylvia Ann Delancey of McLeansville, NC. Children, Jan, Holly, Cliff, and Tom.
