OBITUARIES James William Boswell Sr.
BURLINGTON — James William Boswell Sr., 76, of 2515 Dare St., died on Tuesday, May 31, 2005, at his home. He was born in Caswell County, son of the late Weldon Lafayette Boswell and Rosa Rudd Boswell and was married to the late Hazel Anne Fowlkes Boswell . Mr. Boswell was a former employee of Dan River WEBCO Mills, an avid gardener, a member of Grove Park Baptist Church, and a former member of Northside Baptist Church where he had served as deacon, Sunday school teacher, Scout leader, RA leader and choir member.
He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Connie and Bobby Blythe of Burlington; son and daughter-in-law, Jim and Jan Boswell of Wilmington; grandchildren, Matt Blythe, Melanie Blythe, Adam Blythe, Neil Boswell and his wife, Stacie and Brent Boswell ; great-grandson, Tyler Boswell ; sisters, Myrtle Madren, Frances Gilliam and Florence Matkins, all of Burlington; a brother, Elbridge Boswell of Burlington and special sister-in-law, Arnetta Petty and her husband, Tom, of Burlington.
The funeral will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Dr. Gene Hunsinger and Mr. Bill Vickrey. Entombment will follow at Alamance Memorial Park Mausoleum. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 this evening at the funeral home and other times at the residence.
